I love this webtoon. It’s very different from what you’d expect based on the summary. It’s charming and funny. The characters are distinct and memorable. The mc can definitely be a disaster but he’s also competent and great at his job. And he’s very loving towards his family. I mean, who doesn’t act like an idiot on occasion out of fear and confusion? This is a surprisingly lovely comic. It’s part fantasy with the whole shoe design aspect, yet it feels quite slice of life and real.
Update: this comic is really falling apart in the most recent chapters. I’m so disappointed!! ☹ My above comments ONLY apply up through chapter 63. Just tell yourself 63 is the last chapter and it’s a perfectly lovely comic.

when they finally have sex it is so miserable and joyless. Previously okay seeming top definitely demoted imo Why’d he become such a huge jerk?! Feel sad because I otherwise had a high opinion of this comic
The Pizza Delivery Man and The Gold Palace
My absolute favorite comic. The visual style and quality of the artwork is incredible. Really beautiful and pleasing to the eye. I love this pairing. Their happiness is so hard won and they deserve it so much. It shouldn’t be rare but they’re one of the few not toxic, not abusive couples in BL. They don’t have a messed up origin story. They just met, helped each other, and fell in love. The story is complex, and quite painful at times, yet there are moments of fluff and humor, too. I live for Seo An’s side eye and his inner monologue. 10000/10

In so many BL comics my opinion of the top plummets after they have sex because consent is not taken seriously and his true inner jerk is revealed. Not so with this pairing!! They have a smart, realistic convo about sex, use lube and condoms, and seem to love each other more thru the process. (I feel myself dying inside when authors don’t know about lube.) It’s not the typical top feels empowered and self congratulatory after finding a way to degrade someone thru sex bullshit. Hallelujah!!!!
