The moment that the king let go of the rope connecting them, the blonde boy will not be able to do anything since they are currently inside the forest which was only meant for "dragons and their chosen regas" to be in. And assuming that the king needed to have a rope for the blonde boy to hold on to, the blonde boy was bound to get lost in the forest if the kind lets go of the rope cuz he wasn't a chosen regas. Sooooooooooo, it's understandable if he couldn't get up after being left by the king. The dude is gonna end up lost and sooner or later dead cuz he's not allowed inside the forest (๑•﹏•) I think they mentioned in the earlier chaps. that people who enters the forest which are not regas or dragons are going to get lost and will meet their demise inside the forest.
