ML has the right to get mad specially if these counseling sessions get in the way of their solo time together. They just got together, and obviously with the busy schedule they have as adults you would want to maximize the free time together specially you just got yourself in a relationship with the ones you like. Also, he knows Taejun is such a kindhearted pushover and can’t say no. I mean that’s probably one of his traits that made him love him. It’s a trait that you can just change like in weeks or months. Then there goes this pink cotton candy bish who will really push it just to get that counseling? I mean like Hongyeon I will also be livid.
Taejun's counseling sessions only need to confirm that they are a match which he already told him before. The session doesnt include more love advice or what he should do about his feelings or for them to get together. Go get a friend to confide to. That's the reason why Hongyeon drags Taejun after he already says what's needed to say. With Taejun's personality obviously he will just give in.
