Basically, the uke in his youth led a really lonely life and suffered from his parent’s emotional abuse and his tutor’s sexual and physical abuse. He ran into the super young version of the seme after running away from a physical altercation with his tutor. The kid seme at the time tended to his wounds and showed him kindness that no one else showed him before that left a deep impression. He was deeply touched and it gave him strength to keep going. Fast forward to college, he see’s the seme’s older bro in college and mistook him for the kid who took care of him in the past. The older bro knew the uke was in a dysfunctional relationship with another man (the tutor). What started off as pity eventually became affection. Their relationship becomes sexual because the uke saw his saviour in him and the older bro comes to like him (I think?). Then when the uke visits the family home, he realizes his FWB is actually the older bro of the kid in his memories and became elated in finding his saviour but couldn’t do anything to since the lil bro didn’t remember. So the Uke had the older bro dress up in the same clothes as when the sème was a kid, started to get closer with the lil bro when he visited the family home, and when the realized that the lil bro was spying on them having sex, he smiled bc he saw the lil bro was hard watching them. Eventually the older bro clocked in that the uke didn’t actually like him, but was using him as a rebound for his younger bro (the irony). Basically each bro thought they were only seen as the shadow of the other in the uke’s eyes. That is why the uke was so fond of the younger bro in ways that wasn’t there with the older bro.

I couldn’t understand the rest as to why the older bro committed suicide but that was the gist of it I think.

Damn that is tragic I feel so bad for the older brother. Neither his lover cared about him and it seems from the comments his brother didnt either. Can someone tell me if this is a good read? Also is it sad?

    Somm May 15, 2024 8:34 pm

    Thanks for the summary.
The older brother probably caused the younger brother's accident to get back at uke but maybe regretted it??
What I don't get is why the uke is trying to connect Jinha to Jinseo?? The hair, coat, etc. Were all his actions of giving away Jinseo's things, to get rid of his connection with Jinseo or erase his past with Jinseo?
If it is, then I feel bad for the older brother and scared for the younger brother (he should get away from him)

i just read some of the raw and omg don’t feel bad for the older brother cuz he had the BIGGEST savior complex, he thought he could save uke from the tutor, end up helping him blackmailing the tutor thru a baseball bat sungwoo style. Then learns that uke is interested in his younger brother and soon abuses him to the point that as worse as the tutor. I don’t think the older brother liked him at a point more like someone he can save and use that excuse as falling in love with them cuz he thought he was their savior and saved him. BUT turns out uke only met him cuz he look like his younger brother.

overall, big bro abuses uke, never felt an regrets about it! his final straw was that he set up the lil bro to come over the house when uke was tied up with toy inside and once he saw that his lil bro actually his affection sexual or something he snap! His lil bro runs away from it and then later saw the uke in the car staring…runs away saw his brother and runs away to a crowd and goes down the stairs only for his BIG BROTHER to push him.

The uke got upset that the lil bro got hurt and I think that when big bro wanted to take his life because he wanted to see him cry for HIM…sadly that doesn’t happen…uke had a black reaction to his note.

uke is not any better, he literally torture seme/lil to remember him and everything, and falls in love 10x harder

lil brother isn’t good either, but better than the “adults”. Not good as in he does sprain the uke leg after remembering and finding out the truth and then does to choke and sexually abuse him. BUT SOMEHOW UKE THINKS THAT IT OK?!? cuz he deserves it???? ANYWAYS: seme feels awful and disgusted in himself for hurting uke and really does just protect him later on, especially from his family.

Lil brother is only good because he still has empathy and compassion.
Uke need to go to therapy for abusing literally seme family but his family and the tutor deserve HELL
Big Brother has a MAJOR complex from he thinks hes all that cuz his parents leading to his inferior complex to his lil brother and savior complex. Only think he was interest him uke is to save him and was experimenting
Every parents needs to go fu themselves in this story

The orange hair friend is literally best character with minor flaws.

Is the older bro the guy she saves on the first page of ch 1? The guy in the glasses that the bully makes him pay for stuff?

The bottom gets into a scuffle with the sus guy, but has steamy sex with doc when he’s retrieved from the police station.

The doc is also the tutor that broke our poor uke’s heart. Lots of angst to come

    sweetbun May 19, 2021 3:56 pm

OOF kinda saw that coming. It was real sus how they never showed the supposed first crush's face in the flashbacks (and how his bff was all like "he looks familiar")

also, that reaction to the schoolbook? shady.

    DESIREE May 19, 2021 4:49 pm

    SERIOUSLY HE WAS THE T'TOR????

If the doc was the tutor how come they don't remember each other?

The doc looks much different compared to his youth. Notice Dr. Hans’s muted reaction when he sees Hyuk’s yearbook, and his aversion to answering Hyuk’s questions about his HS or college experiences. It’s only when Hyuk sees Dr. Hans’ yearbook later on that he recognized the younger Dr. Han as his tutor.

the doc doesn't remember him??? Ran

It’s sort of implied that the doc does recognize him after seeing Hyuk’s yearbook. Def give that chap a re-read!

it's chapter 17 for those who don't want to search

Everclear May 19, 2021 1:08 pm

Whoever uploaded chapter 56 is missing basically half the entire chapter. It’s the cutest and fluffiest part too, so go somewhere else to read it.

Everclear May 9, 2021 11:14 am

She can’t write a happy ending for him because she herself is never happy. Yoo-Jin is an extension of herself and her life, and is her way of “living” through him. Depression is harrowing in this series; idk if I could keep reading tbh

Everclear May 1, 2021 5:26 am

I've no doubt that he just had performance anxiety because he liked her so much. It may have hurt her, but I've also no doubt it was also a self-esteem killer for him too as a "man". I don't know what sex education is like in Japan but man, I wouldn't be surprised if he had erectile dysfunction for a while (or still does) knowing how conservative Japanese society is when it comes to suppressing sex talk. The girl should also look into therapy.

Everclear April 7, 2021 8:07 pm

Seems to me like Seungho was gangraped in the past for his father’s political ventures. Seungho talks about living by the “principals” his father has taught him, and has a drastic aversion to nobility in the capital. Probably even caught the King’s attention when he was young too, based on that mountain painting. Poor boy

    ZelAn April 8, 2021 1:20 pm

He was Gangra— that’s disgusting, poor Seungho.

Everclear March 17, 2021 7:13 pm

Could someone tell me where to look at the raws?

Everclear March 7, 2021 11:00 am

Rather cheesy way of insinuating Seungho is fond of Nakyum tbh; because he keeps following Nakyum, that must mean he’s fond of him! Are they gonna say Nakyum is Seungho’s sun next?

    Josugay March 7, 2021 11:17 am

I didn't even realise the meaning of the scene untill you pointed it out, yeah that's rather cheesy.I though it was there to show the relationship between inhun and nakyum.

I do agree that the scene was to showcase their bond. It just seems like Inhun’s last line came out of nowhere unless the author intended it to have a “deeper” meaning. Comes off a bit forced.

Agreed.I don't know if it's just me but I feel like the writing quality is decreasing over time.

I agree. I love the details she puts to convey things through visuals and not words, so the story pacing has always been slow. Her eagerness to appease her audience and the path she took their relationship down has made it difficult to resolve every misunderstanding without taking another 20 plus chapters, and so I also feel it is rushed.

Everclear March 1, 2021 10:11 am

Yes, the non-consensual part is an issue, and the redemption arc is what I’m here for. The sex scenes are hot but the rape element is not. Yes, Seungho is a horrible person and abuser, but do I still find him physically attractive? Unfortunately yes. Would I want for him to be a partner for someone I know? Nope. Does he deserve Nakyum after all he has done? Nope. But somehow, the author gives me hope for what they could be.

I love the micro-expressions the artist portrays; especially in chapter 69. You can tell Seungho is having a relevation without having the author literally spell it out in thought bubbles. Some of yalls need to read between the lines (or in this case, panels).

    scarecrow_sensei March 1, 2021 10:17 am

Same I'm just here for the character development. I know Seungho went through some shit in the past but that still does not justify his actions. There's something in me that hopes Nakyum will never forgive him but there's also a part that wants them both to be happy. I just wish that the ending will be satisfactory for them and for the readers.
