Yeah .. I feel like a bad ending. I am thinking about dropping this manhwa now :(

You can find raws up through Chapter 35 last time I checked, so I'm pretty sure the issue is just that there's no scanlation team current working on the series. I don't know who publishes the Korean version, but it must be a company like Peanutoon that doesn't distribute official translations like Lehzin does. It's a damn shame, because this series is one of my absolute favorites.

Does it get any better for the two, or is their situation as bleak as ever?

I can't read Hangeol, and I don't remember everything, but after the evil step-daughter subplot is resolved (with a victory, no less), not only do things get better, the actual romance aspects pick up and it's shown to be mutual; the only catch is something goes wrong with Dookoomi, who is arrested and summoned by the minister's son for something that I don't understand but seems bad, and the monk continues to be very unsavory.

You would drop a series just because it's not fluffy enough, even if you don't know what the ending is like? That seems...immature. In the case of a series as pervasively dark and negative as White Angels Have No Wings, it's obvious there won't be a happy ending pretty early, but this series has a relatively normal level of drama for romance series geared for young adults. In Pulse, the main character just barely avoids getting outright raped, but that series still has a happy ending.
