Banana fish has one of the best plot..
It has everything u need..
And yes.. Ending is going to destroy u,
It has been 1yr.. And I still can't forget..

Not only is the ending hella sad but along the way there are so many sad moments that just wanna make you jump off a bridge and cry yourself to sleep like I do everynight...BUT... everything else besides that is amazing but if you don't like sad endings then this might not be for you

It’s not just the ending. More than 50% is hella sad that it made me unable to listen to happy songs for a few weeks but I tell ya, it’s one if those things that will leave you a crying mess over and over but you will still voluntarily rip your heart apart and read it again because the plot is just one of the best. Please give it a chance. The fandom will be there for you when you need hugs and comfort.

I know i will regret it in the future cuz i heard of the amazing plot but i hate feeling sad for days straight and i know this will make me depressed for weeks

but itou san has a good ending tho, but i agree it still rip your heart in the middle of the story.

After the prequel came out i think
Maybe the mangaka felt bad in leaving the sad ending and decided to add a happy ending chapter
