I really want to drop this because of the FL. She keeps judging the ML without even trying to find out the truth from him. She just blindly trusts the book she read and her friends dreams, not even considering that there could be more to the story. I can understand not accepting him with open arms and being wary of him, but she's really taking everything to the extreme. It's very frustrating to read.
I hate Roxy. I think Myne would be a better FL. There could even be no FL at all and that would just make this story even better. Honestly, whenever there's a big fight I was hoping Roxy would be killed and that would push Fate to the edge of madness. I think that's a much better plotline then the power of Love BS that's been happening (￣∇￣")

Agreed. It's always unfortunate to see a great ML get slowed down by an annoying FL or half a dozen female characters. Myne was zero bullshit*t just fight and eat and sleep. It sucks that now the author is wasting time on chapters where Fate wakes up surrounded by women...
I feel like this is going all over the place. It started out pretty good and then it kinda tried to be too many things at once. It feel very forced. The thing I'm most upset about is the FL reactions to the ML. He's a scumbag, he attacked her precious little brother (the one she was determed to dedicate her life to), he is trying to force her into a marriage and she just keeps defending and justifying him (even if only to herself). Just No.
Ok, so the more the story progresses the less it makes sense. Like, the first time you saw the emperor he almost killed a bunch of innocent people, the second he gets angry at your own sibling for touching you and lastly he actually attacks your precious sibling (who you love enough to want to live another life for), all the while, all you can suddenly think about is how handsome the emperor is and how he thinks about as a person and how he worries for you, while your heart beats fast for him?!?!? Like WTF??? щ(゜ロ゜щ) щ(゜ロ゜щ) щ(゜ロ゜щ) Did you forget why you wanted this life?
If the ML was a decent person I could at least understand how you can fall for him so suddenly, but to fall for him as he is now is just stupid. I hope this improves. I'm still giving it a chance because it had a good beginning, but if continues like this, I'm dropping it. I'm now sad because I was hoping more from this...(｡•︿•｡)
Exactly. I think I'll drop this for the time being. Her reasoning and thoughts are all over the place. The emperor has done nothing to warrent any feelings of her and while this story is supposed to show us how much she loves her sibling, I never get that feeling from her. Sometimes she even seems to doubt her sibling (like in ch 11 she questioned whether her little sister only saw her as a CEO) and I'm like "Huh, didn't you want to be with your sibling again, why are you now questioning their feeling?" The last few chapters this MC has been like: "Oh shit what a murderer! What an asshole! But he's also so attractive! Does my sibling even care about me as much as this random murderous dude hmm???"

Ok, I see a lot of people hating on both/either of the leads, but everyone (myself included unfortunately) needs to remember how damaged these people are. They both are carrying a lot of emotional baggade.
I mean, Maxi has been neglected and abused her whole life. With that kind of trauma it's natural to have zero self-esteem and serious anxiety. Is it frustrating? Yes, it is. But it's also completely understandable. Honestly, the only reason her behavior was getting on my nerves was because (as a reader) I knew she has a lot of people on her side and willing to support her through everything, while all she needed to do was talk to them. However SHE doesn't know that (yet). That's what everyone needs to remember - as readers we know a lot more then the characters.
Now let's look at everything from Riftans perspective. We're talking about a man with serious social issues. As far as we have seen he didn't have much growing up. He crawled his way to the top using his own strength and as soon as he becomes a lord he is forced into a marriage because his wifes father doesn't want to go to war and would rather send his son-in-law in his place. He only gets to meet his wife and be with her for basically a few hours before going to war. When he gets back after three long years of risking his life, he found out that his wife hasn't been taking care of Their home, she hasn't even visited it let alone moved in (like a "normal" lady should have been done). Combine everything and it all looks very bad from Maxi side, especially since she doesn't really explain anything.
Now we basically have two people with zero communication skills. A lot of problems and worries wouldn't exist if these two people would just start talking with each other but I have a feeling we will have to wait a while for that to happen. I'm sure that there's a more we don't know. Sorry for the long rant, I was really frustrated after reading this work.
THIS!!!! I hate it when people take the context of a story on a surface level. They take shit too seriously without understanding the nuances of the characters' personality ++ setting.
