the knight still has his ptsd and trust issues when he was a slave. The plot route going after him is normal. There was no time for his mental consciousness to heal, our MC just proceed to used him. Slave knight misunderstood this since he don't know who to trust. Slave knight still thinks he can be thrown anytime, he wasn't free in this timeline unlike in the story version the Mc read.

I agree. He hasn't had any time to sort out his thoughts and traumas. Penelope certainly didn't help by just throwing him into the knights dorm.
But then again, I can't really blame Penelope for using him or the other characters when the only way for her to survive is doing that.
Ig, what shocked me most was he was supposed to be a "loyal" knight but he did actually backfired on the mc. I just wish he had a happy ending. He , of all people, deserved to be happy. :')

I think the og route for him as I remember was to be discovered by the Duke, prove himself in an upcoming war or within the duchy years later. Become free and a real actual knight by royal decree. He lost all that character development. The supposed friends and comrades that will help him mentally then the original fl bonding with him.
I tried to not cry but ended up im crying this story is takes place in reality
