It was obvious that Yuri was in love with the teacher since he kept being show keeping him company, and when it was announced Yuri would had the focus in season 2 (I'm depressed they didn't allow the author to do it!), but I honestly hoped he wouldn't get together with him, like, I really HATE teacher x student, even if in college. I'm the kind of person to really separate work and private life so... It icks me they actually got together and he still calls him teacher.
