Yes you're right. Now if the author wrote it that way for there to be that interpretation, I'm all for it but they didn't. And as it seems Lyle caters to his alpha's whims. No double standards, that doesn't even applies here.

And Ash already said before that even if he gets married, he doesn’t want to have kids and Karlyle also never mentioned about wanting to have kids before. About the “special type of alpha that was able to bear kids”, they spoiled it without context, DTR has a novel and besides the main + side stories, there’s a AU. In the AU Karlyle was able to get pregnant as an alpha but in the main + story he’s not
