That's the funny thing about life. Some people have everything: money, fame, women but they hate life and want to die. Dohyun here has nothing: no money and no one who loves him. However, he clearly loves life and enjoys the little things like smoking and his independence. I do like that strait in him. He suffered a lot from the rape but it didn't break him. He wanted to escape and put it all behind.
