Spoiler

1. Petty God who cursed the wrong family but didnt lift it after the 100 years he was told. this petty god waited for them to be reborn with an ambiguous intention to make them together but also sink them like titanic after shipping them.
2. His punishment is to NEVER see that child he loves reborn since he chose to vent his anger to innocent members of the family. You'd think he cares but stubbornly had to do something to ruin that "good" sentiment. —maybe I'm also petty or can't let go of this grudge... i just really REALLY don't like him. but well, the author did a great job writing him!
3. i loved him during the bullying case but that's pretty much it.
4. i still believe that the author has often forced actions on the main characters even if it's something so stupid just to move the plot forward and interesting or confrontational—so that's just my critique towards their writing, coz they did a splendid job fleshing the story out, esp during the bullying arc

I personally needed some closure at their wedding, but well, we didn't see that.

I agree.. the ending indicates that the god gets to meet the child maybe after 100 years.. right after he lifts the curse of 300 years

I almost dropped it as it had that self-proclaimed lead again who makes the capable lead burdened (and well, she's too dreamy and as you'd expect, blame others for her misfortune when she falls). Plus, even the boss slaves her to work. BUT! The squid version of the FL is so cute and her personality is very admirable that I just had to keep reading. And the typical cold and calculatong ML had an unexpected layer of mystery and intrigue to him. I like how it's also a slice of life, the FL has her flaws but she has principles and abides by them. She is consistent. Even the yandere ML has his redeeming qualities and character development. I like the layered plot where lives are interconnected, both past and present. The story gather more depth after all those ridiculousness in the first arc.

Plus it's not purely heterosexual I just feel like the natural interweaving of hetero and homosexual relationship is so wholesome and I cherished it so much. Albeit the homosexual relationship isn't that fleshed out since there's a past which wasn't unraveled well, but their relationship is presented well enough. And we even have a second probable homosexual relationship blooming—which the FL took upon her shoulders to make sure that if it does blossom, it wouldn't affect the family much HAHAHA

So this is where that snippet of a heartbreak came from. Damn tiktok getting me all sappy and broken from a scene taken out of context.

Also, WOW. As naive as she is, she has values clearly stated. She's not the gullible or easily fooled type, just the someone who doesnt judge a person by impression. She feels offended. She feels anger. She knows where her heart lies even if it takes just a little longer for her to realize romantic feelings.

The latter bit felt rushed, especially the climax. The bomb just drops and everything is ambiguously unraveled. Especially with who the villains are. Especially a certain character who dared to even speak of sacrifing someone important to the character they claim to have loved.

Also, another WOW is how stupid the general human public is in that world. Like, I get it. It's a riot and somewhat a revolt... but... well. I suppose the actual important humans are well-written.

Side note: Cat people probably has eight lives to give but only one life to live, huh. Could they probably even sacrifice their last life? Plus... the bonus chaps are so wholesome, hehe. Gives a warmer feeling to that implied ending.

Red River, a Japanese Hittite counterpart relatively in the same timeline(Ramses I), has a clearer plot with a balanced risks of messy situations and irreversible events. Besides, the younger and fickle FL had a more distinct character development, getting stronger both mentally and physically. Here, I am constantly disappointed by the FL, always clumsy and only wise when she needs to leave an impression for the Pharoah. Always in distress yet rarely helpful to the pharoah's plans. The time traveling and inconsistency in whichever timeline is false or true is a head ache, and while reincarnation seems to save the FL's ripple effect... it undermines all the past events into a fever dream... besides, if it is a false timeline, why would their souls be connected in reincarnation? The FLs influence is caused by a bracelet which resets whatever its owner changed once it breaks.

I was so into it hoping some clarity is given to me especially during her third return... but I ended up reading only for closure, but I'm no longer as attached nor expectant.

I was even hoping that Egypt is given some bragging rights here but with the actual series of events, they lost. She made them lose. Unlike in Red River where the FL actually had a positive and moving effect in the forgotten race, Hittite. (Yeah, I can't help comparing them because of the timeline both authors chose to cover. it's like if both of them were sent back in the same timeline, the Japanese counterpart had more knowledge and impact to impart WHILE giving a satisfying romantic arc)

ngl, characterization wise. Neul deserved being the male lead at least with Yeoni coz all i saw was Yeoni chasing after Hana... and Hana having this weak presence befitting a second lead... but not quite the second lead I root for because all I saw from him is dependency. That sort of reliance, not really love, because Yeoni supported him. Besides... the ending aggravated me more because Nuel just had more impact than Hana.

Glad I'm not the only one. Nuel was og ml and he deserved to be the one too. I felt more sympathy to him in the end. He'll always feel there's something or someone that he forgot, but won't be able to remember. Smh he didn't deserve any of it.

I was itching to flip the damn table everytime her adversaries increase. Like, the FL is indeed an attractive woman so why in the name of all good is she only attracting enemies and flies. And it's just sad how most of her allies still end up relying on her wits and rarely is it in their efforts that she is saved.

(ngl, the ML redeemed himself when he helps her in the shadows, I'm just a little annoyed when he forces himself on her. Regardless, the FL really knows how to keep him in check and keep herself standing on solid ground. Plus, it's interesting how three of her enemies ended up being somewhat her allies. That's news to me, most manhuas I've read has a solid black and white personality. Also, I'm so happy that she ends up having strong allies more and more into the story, allies that arent necessarily romantically interested in her.)

well, the whole story seems more like the summary of itself. like a draft before it is fully fleshed out and published. i like the plot, but the execution is so-so.

.dr June 24, 2021 6:44 am

After much patience, I have finished it. It's not as satisfying as I thought it would be. Although there are newer stunts to this compared to most "reincarnation" or "time travel" manhua's I've read. Besides, the FL is very interesting and although the ML did treat her like shit, this renewed life of hers explained exactly why he hated her guts. And it is seen now that once cleared of all the deceptions, the ML is as badass as the FL in setting the records straight. Besides, even if the FL is very much in love with the ML and the ML has slowly unraveled his love for her... their relationship doesn't instantly becomes okay. (The translation barely makes the story readable tho)

But the whole foster life has me double thinking since it wasn't fully cleared what happened after the FL said that their legal relationship obstructs further talks of marriage.

I also noticed how Chinese Manhuas have stupid audiences or at least change drifts like a hypocritical twitter space. one moment they are against the leads, then they change hearts against the "villains" —all the while so easily swayed once the villains speak some kind of "logic" —but then i suppose it shows how fickle outsiders are to the matter... like an audience to a drama (without the self-reflection or even feel sorry that they judged other people wrong).

And there's also this stereotypic 2D personality of villains to feel as if it's always the leads' fault why retribution has caused their downfall. Can't one villain be at least aware that they're the villain and act accordingly? istg is the leads only the one aware when they use backhanded methods. (i know "bad" people are narcissists and doesnt think they do anything bad... but when they speak their crimes with the intention of being the victim... I'm just appalled by the shamelessness.)

then again... i suppose this is why most chinese manhuas are... childish-like. (too bad most korean/japanese manhuas related to reincarnation and time travel are still on-going )

It's always the same thing the main lead is hated for literally breathing

.dr June 23, 2021 8:15 am

they say if i understand it enough to make grammatical corrections then i understand it (especially as this is an illegal translation)

but for the love of all that is good, i lost braincells trying to tolerate it especially because i really like the plot!

.dr June 22, 2021 12:06 pm

Besides the fact that there is somewhat an unnatural integration of memories for Yahiro and Yoshitake, the overall feeling and opposite response between the two characters are satisfying.

For example, I only realize now what Yahiro's action meant as I analyze the title and his intentions. Meanwhile, I find Yoshitake's character straightforward yet also all over the place.

I'm still detached from the symbolism or relevance of their scars, but I guess that is the actually the boundary which sets the past and the present apart.
