Okay I, for one, am going to defend "chapter 125" because I like the premise.

Sure execution could've been better but helps raise awareness in that individuals in any group can have racist tendencies. It does matter if they're Black, White, Asian, Indian, African, Latino/a, etc. they can still be racist, acting on the belief that their race is superior or inferior, towards people of other races. This could be based on skin tone or it could be based on other features such as hair and eye colors. And many of them find 'excuses' to support their actions. In this case the Mix kid used oppression from history or events that sadly happened in current day to excuse his actions against those with lighter skin tones. He's a bully with an excuse to beat down on others just like all the other stories. This one just happens to be about race.

If someone moves to an area where there's predominantly another race, there are individuals that may act like this as disappointing as it is. For example: My father (Latino) grew up in a poverty stricken neighborhood that happened to be predominantly black and her family were one of the few 'white' families in the area in terms of skin tone. As such the black kids would often pick on him and his siblings calling them 'cracker' and other slurs. If my dad or his siblings fought back they would get ganged up on.

Now hopefully such behavior doesn't continue in present day, but it may still be around in different groups. Even if they don't have different skin tones it still may happen.

I wouldn't mind if they redid the story.

I agree with you but I feel like if you're going to write something about race, it should be something that has something to do with you. Like if I'm white, why am I writing about Latino/a oppression? I would have no experience on the topic.

I would say no to that. Just because you're a different race (whether it be same skin tone or different skin tone) I would say you can write about it as long as its well researched and respectable.

We do it all the time, such as news articles, research papers on important figures in history, neo-slave books (books on slavery but the authors didn't experience it themselves), and so forth. Not everyone who writes these are the same race as the people they are talking about, some are but not all. In fact sometimes it's needed as people would listen to certain voices more than other voices. For instance, a British/French/German/or Italian writing about Jewish oppression during the reign of Hitler to raise awareness and sympathy. Or a Latino/African/Black/ or Asian were to write about the Slavic people, the white slaves who were sold to Arabic people to clarify that slavery is not a new concept that appeared in 1400 or so, it existed way in the prehistoric times. The strong conquered the weak, even people of their own race. It's not okay in this day and age and never will be, but that was the way of the world back then.

I would say it's bad to say that just because some is a different race, sex, age, etc. doesn't mean they can't write on important topics with other races, cultures, sex, age, etc. involved. That would be segregation of writing and that's a no no. And this clearly affects this author's culture. Where Koreans are showing prejudice against foreigners who happen to have darker skin tones, and since the foreigners are the majority in that town/area the bully(ies) are using it to their advantage and preying on the Korean kids who (like them) are innocent in this situation. No one wants to be called a racist, but they're the one's being racist toward the people they claim are racists. They probably know they're contradictory or maybe think they are actually doing some justice, but all they're doing is perpetuating the cycle of hate and predjedice. And then you have a character who is half-white half-korean and he experienced his own predjedice in the U.S. from the minority, who was probably the majority in the area or school. Not race is innocent in history and even today, every race has their own misguided or tainted apples. And I think that's what this author's trying to say.

As I said before execution could've gone better, but the premise it great.

The author making a teacher call a student a slur is insane. Terrible execution in my book. The student also shouldn't have said racist things to his teacher.

Well the teacher calling a student a racial slur is not really insane. Daniel did what they other teachers basically did, they went on the bullies level. The only thing that makes it different is that it's about race so it's "bad".

The bully 'subtly' called the teacher a "yellow monkey" cause he's half Korean. The teacher just dished what the kid sold by calling him n*****. If the kid can't take it he shouldn't dish it out. Thematically it fits the stories script and themes. So I have nothing wrong it as it's coherent to the story.

When I say poor execution I meant I wished they would slow the first chapter of the arc more. Like go into a little bit more detail, show other areas where the prejudice is different, or something. You may not agree with me and I respect that, but I actually have no problem with him saying the n-word.

In my opinion that word should be banned, no one should say it or any variation of it, including black or Latino. But if one group is allowed to say it (n***a), than all groups should allowed to say it. Not the "-er" but at least the "-a" as its more a term of endearment.

If you don't agree with me that's fine, it's my opinion after all. You are welcome discuss a different point if you wish.

This theory just hit me.
What if Louis was drugged during the party not just drunk, and he was drugged by the duke. Remember the drug make people really obedient and Louis was acting very obedient that night he slept with the Prince. The duke also told Louis to wait before the Prince saw him so something was going to happen between Louis and the duke if the prince didn’t step in. The duke is weirdly obsessed with him too and perhaps unstable mentally (if walking around with deer blood is anything to go by) so that’s a bad sign. It’s a theory but it seems oddly possible right now.

idk if it's related but don't you think when he was drugged the jewelery on his neck was too radiant ?? like it has something to do with the obedient thing. But at the same time, it wasn't on him afterwards bc he was naked to do it, idk i want spoilers

When most of us thought the father was going to change but he’s still the piece of trash he was in the beginning. Well at least he’s finally getting the Xin nian treatment.

Oh and when are they going to get the grandfather’s phone that has evidence of Xin nain being a murderer? Unless I somehow missed it.

The morning sickness effect made me die.
There was a similar effect on my uncle when his girlfriend(now fiancé) was pregnant with his first child. He was skinny as all heck and before his son was born he looked like he was pregnant instead of her. It was hysterical.
