On the app you can get free ink up to 1000 on mondays (for the whole day) from a fortune cookie. You can also watch ads or download/play games. Inviting friends gives you 500 ink and filling out surveys is 10 ink. Hope this helps :)

No worries :3 the fortune cookie only appears mondays and only lasts for the whole day. Once you press it, it'll give you ink and then you wait 1hr to get another one. Hope this wasn't confusing.
