That's true, I think MC said it might be coz the system might be confusing ML as a player (at least his death) so maybe that's why??? BUT ALSO, I think when the other characters find out about the game or save the cassette a new map opens up, soooo ML might be getting them all to do it so he sends more time with MC, and later on other characters deaths can open more endings???? But idk, I'm just guessing blindly here
