I really wonder about people who get all bothered about stories like this and drop them because they're "too serious". Like, do you only read simple romance and comedies? Do you require no story in your stories?
I sometimes think it's a lack of maturity that makes these people so angry at these stories for "being so dramatic", "hurting their feelings", "taking themselves too seriously", etc. Like they just want all stories to be perfect happy fun times and portray all the muddled expectations they have.
Obviously this isn't just about this story. I've come to see this a lot on -- get this -- mostly BL comics and it's been brewing in me for so long now. I almost never see this when I go and read shoujo or josei. Like, with those -- especially Josei -- people seem to be more open with the conversation and with the dramatic and real life approaches than people often are with BL. With BL I feel it's often "fall in love and be happy and have sex for my perverse satisfaction or I'm dropping this; stop taking yourself so seriously, author".
I don't quite understand that. Maybe it's just that the people reading these tend to be too young for it. They've come here for weird fulfillment of their gay fetish fantasies and oh no it's not all sexy fun times and now they're upset.
I don't know, I don't think I fully expressed what I was trying to say and I really should go back and check everything but it's 5 am and I haven't slept so never mind that. Anyway, don't hate me for all this. I'm just saying what I felt. Well, I mean I guess you can hate me. That's cool too. Just don't bother giving some half ass defense for yourself if you know somewhere in your mind you're just a kid fetishizing gay relationships because I have no desire to reason with you and will not justify a further response. Have a nice day or night or whatever I don't know where I am.

I think saying that they drop the manga because of lack of maturity is a little bit wrong to say? I mean there are people who read bl not for the plot but for satisfying themselves but there are some who drop it because they can't deal with the drama. Like it's not good for their heart cus they constantly feel upset and angry for those characters that they couldn't cope with those emotions. I have a friend who just love simple romances (not yaoi all the time) but hates dramatic stories. Anyways i do agree with the rest. There are some immature young people who would come read yaoi only for the sex which pisses me off. They would get upset if they don't get what they want and lash out to the authors (which i've seen before- outrageous!). These people are ヽ(`Д´)ノ but yeah, i do get what you mean.

A decade or so back, when yaoi was yaoi and BL meant exclusively shounen-ai, and hosting BL manga on online readers weren't the norm, the shoujo genre had easier access and used to have this kind of rabid readership where any problematic thing was pushed aside if it meant the couple getting together and only brought to criticism when it does the opposite. That kind of immaturity was actually what pushed me to read yaoi in the first place. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
With the interest for BL taking over what used to be shoujo's domain, I'm guessing it's the next gen of the same type of readers that have moved to this genre. So, I don't believe it can be wholly blamed on gay fetishization as much as it really is young people expecting an idealized form of love (rape or consent be damned as long as there's complete fidelity).
@Rosebutt I'm sorry, but being unable to cope with the drama IS a sign of lack of emotional maturity. It's not meant to be offensive. It's exactly why there's ratings for consuming media.

You're making me question what is emotional maturity because i just can't see it in your point of view? I would appreciate if you explain it further on what you meant why avoiding reading drama is a a sign of lack of emotional maturity. Sorry, i can't seem to get your message. What if you don't like a certain drama? I mean like, you do like other kinds of drama but avoiding the other types of drama you don't like is still seen as a lack of maturity? Oh but anyways, i do agree with you with the shoujo part. I got tired reading some of them because it was too childish and cliche for me.Too much predictable sappy romance.

so yeah, Heesoo's meddling is troublesome and kinda fucked, but he's never really been on Hyesung's side. He's mad, and for a reason. Hyesung has been acting like a complete selfish asshole for a while now. He doesn't have to keep the baby if he really doesn't want to. Like it's not right to try and force him to keep it, but he's just generally an asshole about everything. Even the author knows he's a prick.

I don't hate the girl. I mean, she did tell just one person she considers a close friend and how was she to know that it would spread around the whole school? I'm sure most people would want to tell someone if they saw a situation like that and misunderstood it in such a way. Sure, I don't appreciate what she has said, but at least she's clearly given it time to rethink and become at least a bit comfortable with the fact that he's gay. She could very well be a completely hateful bitch, but she's not. It bothers me how yaoi fans are so quick to hate female characters even if they've done nothing wrong. ( ̄へ ̄)

I don't know man..... I mean im a fujo and if saw something like that for sure I'll fangirl but I don't think I'll go as far as telling my closest friends about it. Cuz for sure i ACCIDENTALLY saw it. Means its something they want to keep a secret to everyone. And if that's something they dont want anyone to know dont u think its just rude and bad to just say it to ur friend like some juicy gossip??.
If anyone's offended then im sorry. But i dont intend anyone to be offended

she told hoobae sunbae and her friend. pretty sure that sunbae was the one who spread rumours, seems like he didn't like youngmin too much from before since he was so quick to say that he does enjokousai as soon as he heard the two girls talk about youngmin.
i agree that she's not a completely hateful bitch, like her friend says i think she jumps to the conclusion too quickly, but it's still messed up. just because most people would do it doesn't make it ok, and even so i wouldn't say something as big as that to someone i didn't even know very well (the sunbae).
'yaoi fans are so quick to hate female characters' because most of the time they're the other love interest if they're in one. and don't you see everyone calling the professor creepy too?
The first part of the extras!! I! Am! Screaming! I can't stop laughing omfg someone help me "Well I guess I am gay" "yeah, I guess so" ohhh man I was not expecting that fuck my gut hurtttss
