I read some spoiler and he actually didn’t kill him. Her father was still alive in the first timeline and apparently (I’m not sure since I read the spoiler a long time ago) her father was there when Tia was about to get executed and he didn’t even try stop it. Ruve thought that her father would somehow try to interrupt the execution but he didn’t so Ruve decided at the last moment to rise his arm to prevent Tia to be killed but Jieun stopped him.
I’m not sure if this is EXACTLY what happened but I do remember that her father was still alive.

In the first timeline, Tia and Ruve were both poisoned. And apparently the poison can change a person behavior, making the person easily angry and irritated and that’s why the past Ruve and the present Ruve are so different. In the first timeline he really cared for Tia, but he was also attracted by Jieun since she was the only person “warm” around (Tia was described as someone cold and without a heart).
