Yeah he initially hated mc cus he thought she was the cruel scheming snake ass veronica ,yet still ended up gradually falling for her despite not wanting to, later he (accidentally) finds out she's a fake and basically is panicking cus he knows duke finna assassinate her when he gets the chance and switch the two so he starts acting cold like she doesn't matter to him to prolong that from happening, that's why he has that horrified/complex look when the baby was born he realized this was the best possible time for the Duke to take out the replacement, when mc is killed and veronica pulls up he instantly knew it wasn't mc at a glance and freaks out, he finds mc's body cries his heart out and basically raises the kid himself while telling him about what a wonderful person his mom was. Kinda super fucking sad tbh.

I totally get that but I don't think our mc knew it was something traumatic for Angela. She only knew that she hated pink "for some reason." I think it said that in one of the earlier chapters.
