This is why i rarely read shoujo mangas
They sounds so cliche. The plot s actually the same as another shoujo manga
First there is a new transfer student and that transfer student will sit near the heroine
After that the heroine will fall in love with that transfer student
And then things keep coming, like someone from heroine past and then someone from the transfer student past
I dont mean any hate. I just giving my opinion
But this manga sure make me cry when the heroine find out that her boyfriend loving someone else
When you describe it like that, of course it sounds generic. It's like if you described all yaoi as "guy who thinks he's straight finds himself thinking about a friend/neighbor/classmate". They kiss. He avoids said friend/neighbor/classmate. They confess to each other and have sex. The end. Like that, I've described most of the yaoi I've read so far lol.
Not that I'm claiming shoujo aren't generic; they can be, mostly since, rather than the setup being the same, the sources of drama tend to be recycled (exes, hating ass bullies in love with the male lead, male lead's bff who falls for female lead or vice versa). Still, even a super predictable, super generic story has its place; when you want something to keep you entertained without requiring too much thought or emotional investment, for example.
Well although there are some that are like that many shoujos bring in new stuff too. Those are the more popular ones. Like Ao Haru Ride. One of the most
popular ones out there. Its very realistic. The main girl is bullied and hated, and has no confidence in herself, and begins creating her fake life. Already it goes out of your description. Now I'm not gonna describe the whole manga and every detail on how it isnt generic but that and along with this one there isnt this scenario that is followed with every one it each has own way. You just have to look at the big picture.
