Hatarakanai Futari (The Jobless Siblings)
There are some nice chapters, but also a lot of mediocre ones involving fart and shit jokes, which is very low-brow humor. There is a sense of development, while the characters retain their key characteristics, so it's interesting to see. Art is overly simplistic, but it is fine for this genre.
31 Ai Dream
Ahhhh, I love this mangaka, and her ability to make me feel all torn up inside watching her characters suffer horrible losses and struggling with the tragic events of life. There's a lot of cliches, but she executes them so well. There is no lazy lack-of-communication conflicts here, it's all happening even when people talk things out, because sometimes you just can't predict what life will bring you. The art is fantastic as always, but Haru's appearance suddenly changes from the first chapter to the most recent one, haha. Did the mangaka forget what he looked like? I hope to read the future chapters soon, because it's left on a cliffhanger!
The Way to Protect the Female Lead's Older Brother
There's a lot of villainess isekai out there, but this one is probably the most insane one that I've read. You forget that she's an isekai'd character because she's completely into her role, playing the evil woman she is supposed to be. It's very unnerving to see, as I can't imagine someone who is not part of the original world acting so in tune with a person that was not them. Sure, you can say that she's experienced everything the original Roxanna experienced, which warped her, but I don't think it's possible to fall so completely in line with the entirety of it all. Yes, the whole Agriche family is batshit crazy, but she doesn't need to be, since she knows how it will end for them. Yet she follows their terrible ways almost entirely, the only exception being that she's saving the prince of the other family to avoid a disastrous demise.
The webtoon tries to paint her as intelligent, but seeing that she reincarnated into this body from when she was a baby, I don't think she is all that smart. She didn't figure out any ways to thwart the schemes in her own family, and she let her brother die, knowing it was going to happen, and not doing anything about it. If she had isekai'd into this body more recently, I'd commend her, but as such, she seems like she didn't take full advantage of her precognition about future events. Her attempts to twist the actions of people around her are half-hearted, and more emphasis is placed on her poisoning herself and controlling poisoned butterflies. Granted, she has some great moments here and there, but I don't think she's a strong female protagonist, at least from what I've seen from her so far. There's a lot of missed opportunities, and she lacks agency, which is why the pacing of the story is slow. She wanders from place to place and often passes out from poisoning herself, but she doesn't let anyone else into her plans. She also hasn't shown any real ability to manipulate people, other the stupid half-sister, which was actually done by proxy by her half-brother. The father and older brother are puppet villains who do nothing except to act scary and serve as menacing fake obstacles, since they're only around to conveniently appear to hinder her plans.
The art quality was rather inconsistent in the beginning, but got better and better with new chapters. Character designs are striking and memorable, it's pretty easy to distinguish who is who. The artist makes great use of the webtoon format to make very flowy panels, and the execution is just spot-on.
Overall, there's too much dichotomy with the evil family vs. the good family, and it's just unoriginal. The female lead is not a sympathetic character, despite the author trying to make us give her pity points whenever she faints. The reason is that she doesn't have someone she cares about in this world that humanizes her (not counting the prince, because that's plot-related), and she does everything of her own accord, she's not actually forced to do all these bad things. This is also not the story in which an evil character slowly comes to change themselves by being shown love either...and if that was indeed the goal, that wasn't a real attempt on the author's part since the focus just isn't there. There are some good ideas here, but also plenty of flaws. However, this is one of the better isekai webtoons that I have read with a decent female lead who isn't head-over-heels in love all the time.
Kuronou Syndrome
This manga has me on the edge of my seat every chapter. The art is great and I love all the colored panels, which is rare to see in manga.
My only issue is with how nonsensical literally everyone in here behaves, which detracts from the overall realism of the game, in my opinion. Everyone goes from normal-looking to batshit crazy at the flip of a switch. There are supposed to be other players in this game, but I don't understand why they would know the progress of the protagonist. It's not like he knows their progress, too. Those other players don't even change their bodies each time like he does, which makes me question why it's different for him, and only him?
The protagonist is not all that likeable, he's a total narcissist and obsessed with his own good looks, and doesn't care about other people. But you do want to see him clear the stage, because he's the least abnormal person in this world. The pacing is somewhat too fast, if looking from a logical standpoint, but it's likely that way to maintain the suspense.
Also, the author has a really weird eye fetish. In the first chapter, he makes the main character wear an eye patch for no reason at all, when he was supposed to remain inconspicuous (eye patches totally don't draw attention), and his eye wasn't even injured in the first place. Now both of his eyes have popped out all of a sudden, and they're just rolling on the floor. What the hell.
Dairoku Sense
Interesting first chapter, but the cop x weird annoying sidekick partnership has been done over and over again. I'm not really sure what the boy's power is, since they didn't properly explain it, or maybe it's because of the bad translation. It seems like he can see things from the perspective of the dead murdered person? Anyway, it's alright so far, but the translation needs a proof-reader. The grammar is odd and some word choices seem to be just wrong. The art in this manga is very below par, with many blank backgrounds and simplistic character designs.
Gannibal
The male lead is a complete and utter idiot. All the red flags are raised and the alarm bells are ringing by the end of chapter one, and he thinks it's a good idea to wander in the wilderness when he knows there's cannibals and savage man-eating bears out there. His kid hands him a severed finger, and that doesn't give him the push to get the heck out of there. Seriously, how is he even still alive? Also his wife is verbally and emotionally abusive and not helping the situation. The background art and shading is fantastic, but the faces are hit and miss. Sometimes they're drawn well, and sometimes more sloppily. Everything is creepy as heck, so mission achieved.
A.I Doctor
This webtoon has some weird medical magic going on, but I'll suspend my disbelief for a bit. I don't believe an A.I. can be better than a doctor at diagnosing diseases, unless it's a simple condition. Even in the example given, the A.I. had incorrectly diagnosed pneumonia instead of tuberculosis, which can be a deadly mistake. The professor who explained it waved it away as human input error, but this diagnosis could have just been determined by humans instead of inputting so much material for a computer to process. It takes far too much time and effort to file the various lab results and symptoms, when as a doctor, you can reach a diagnosis more quickly by observing, questioning, and touching the patient. It would be helpful if A.I. was used in conjunction with doctors to further speed up the diagnostic process, but it's impossible to just rely on A.I. alone for this. The doctors here all act extremely questionably and should not have even been able to practice as doctors, because of their complete lack of empathy. Even the main character is not likeable, because he instantly brags about how smart he is when he's introduced, saying how he's the top doctor in his school, when he's only in the first year of residency. They go about doing very strange things, such as putting him on a ventilator and taking him off of it when his lungs hadn't been damaged in the first place, they forcefully wake him up to question him before he's fully recovered by cutting off the pain medication, and they don't run tests on him when he's awake to see if his mental and physical capacities are normal. Also, did the A.I. just make him have permanent hallucinations, because it's a floating chibi figure that only he can see and hear, and that's rather disturbing. At least the art is quite decent. Hopefully it gets better from here.
Baymax
There's supposed to be a total of 9 chapters, but there's only one chapter uploaded here. The first chapter is short and sweet, showing the perspective of Tadashi as he builds Baymax for his brother. The art is slightly below average for a manga, but it's still good enough for fulfilling the purpose as an adaptation of the movie.
Ansatsu Skill de Isekai Saikyou: Renkinjutsu to Ansatsujutsu o Kiwameta Ore wa, Sekai o Kage kara Shihai suru
Assassin player in a VRMMORPG is isekai'd to another world by a goddess, except it's not a VR world anymore. He's tasked to assassinate an evil god, for which he'll be rewarded if he succeeds. There's a lot of explaining in the first chapter, but I feel it is too much info-dumping, which may be unnecessary, since he's no longer in the game world he was in. Basically, it was a lot of bragging about how strong he is, and how unique of an assassin he is. The goddess has no head and very big breasts, which I don't like, because that's typical Japanese fanservice...sigh... The art is somewhat decent, but not noteworthy. The male lead doesn't seem too intelligent, which is typical of a shounen character.
The Pawn's Revenge
