I find this line also used quite often in Chinese manhua as well. The "God" that is worshipped by Muslims and Christians is the same, they only call him by different names. But Buddha isn't even a god either, although he's worshipped and even treated as one from what I've seen in East-Asian Buddhism.
Yep. Let me correct myself on that one. What I mean is, I've seen dialogues like "Let me pray to [Lord] Buddha."
On your second statement, I don't believe you can be a practicing Christan and a Buddhist because there are many contradicting ideas. For example, the concept of reincarnation, karma (quite different from sin), heaven/hell, etc.
