the anime is wholesome and heartwarming because the producer was like “hey maybe we SHOULDNT have the main character be a pedo like the manga author wanted” and managed to salvage the work into something good... unlike the manga author who just ruined their own story unfortunately

There’s nothing foreshadowing a future romantic relationship, unlike bunny drop were he was calling her cute and shit. In this manga, all we see are the two’s growing relationship and attachment. It’s really just seems like Ruri is a mix of an aunt/sister to the kid tbh.

and you’re right, there’s nothing foreshadowing a romance. but you know my comment said “weirdly sexual vibe” and not “romantic” right?? go back and look at the scenes where he sucks her blood and you’ll know exactly what i mean. i don’t think i’m reaching or overreacting; there are so many other ways to draw those scenes yet the author chose to make it have erotic implications. either you’re too young to understand or you just haven’t seen enough explicit manga to identify key techniques in making erotic art lmfao. i’m not saying the story will end up pedophilic and have an actual sexual or romantic relationship , literally all i’m saying is that those scenes are oddly sexual which is un befitting of the storyline.
