I have a couple of theories. 1) MC is dead, but he ended up in a place like the good place (as others have suggested) 2) MC somehow jumped into a parallel universe where things are slightly different (Gaku exists as a friend, he hasn't earned medals) 3) MC jumped back in time and doesn't remember Gaku because of something traumatic (either involving something that happened to him (death for example) or something he did (red flag-related behavior like stalking, etc.))
I love the story so far. Can't wait to see what comes next~ Hoping for the best.
