It's really not, half the people who come here just expect a simple isekai but mushoku tensei runs a little deeper than that. ( I don't even like the series that much but people are too quick to judge) The characters aren't good people, they show that in ways that are even off putting, like Rudeus being a pervert and his dad sleeping with other women. They are not perfect or good characters, they're even bad people in most peoples eyes but you have to look just a bit deeper past your small brain, they imrpove as people, they look at what they do wrong, they BECOME better people slowly through small things ( although the manga has yet to get to point since it only updates once a month, trust me it's a pretty fun novel but it has its flaws)
