technically geto was defeated by yuuta(a second year) but geto managed to get away and gojo was there in his final moment. read the jjk prequel and you'll know more
gojo and getou have different views i guess getou want to creat a utopian world where sorcerers only exist so that there would be no cursed energy will circulate to the world and gojo is the contrary but he doesnt care to the people (the ones who cant sense or see the cursed energy) either and since they have different logic getou decides to make his own pack where he will annihilate all the humans in the world except for the sorcerers (this actually have a manga which is the tokyo metropolitan magic techincal school which is the volume 0 of jjk)
