I wondered about that too, but I don't think he's yandere. Sure, he shows a low level of empathy at times, but he is not twisted. What also may have given the impression him being yandere was the episode when he jumped the blond guy who was also mysophobic, while Kurose was only in his teens, but I think that rather hints at Kurose being mature and intelligent early on.
