When I first read it, I was in my teens, I wanted to smack every character for being so selfish. All of them. I felt that I wasted time reading it.
I was in my 3rd year in college when I read it a 2nd time. I had a different perspective of each characters after that. I started to see how pathetic and lonely Ryouki is, how depressed and clingy Azusa is, how masochistic Shinogu is and how much of a crowd-pleaser Hatsumi is. I began to feel differently for each character. I still wanted to smack them at times however I empathized with them too.
A 3rd reading brought a different view of the story yet again. And I believe that if I read this in a couple of years after, I'll have a different view of it.
