No point being grateful for something no one can understand. I mean I appreciate that they tried, but they shouldn't have. I would rather bad translations being taken down and replaced with better quality and understandable chapters, or you lose the thread of the story. Bad translations do more to hurt these stories than help them.
we literally WANT them to take it down because its really bad translation... isnt it fair enough to say whats on our mind? i think most of the commenters arent bullying them, if anything we prefer them not to waste that much of their time if the result isnt even readable. they also havent told the initial translator that theyre going to start updating from now on, that is also not following the rules.
bad quality translations may be a ‘temporary fix’ but the consequences are that it will throw the current readers off and make them consider dropping it. also, when this webtoon will be completed, who will take responsibility for the translation suddenly losing quality? quality should be maintained. it’s a good thing they took it down
Lemme ask you something real quick:
If you mentioned that you wanted to eat cake and then someone brought you a slice but made it of moldy and rotten ingredients would you still say thank you all happy and cheerfully?
People come here to read something that they can understand, look at without getting a stroke and to ENJOY the newest chapter. If those are not given, then obviously people aren't gonna be thankful.
There are times people factually do NOT need to be thankful for something. Like it or not.
in general, accurate translations are really important and should reflect the quality of the work written in the original language by the author...if not then it’s disrespecting the authors work. But in a story like this where communication and relationships are complex, accurate translations are a must... it’s not bullying to want accurate translations
I wouldn't consider copying and pasting from Google Translate 'doing one's best.'
