I'm frustrated with the King. I can understand a lot of his reasoning, but I am still frustrated that he allowed his vassals and aristocrats to rule their territories with seemingly no supervision, guidelines, or threat of punishment. King of what, exactly? His army? His city? Seems like he really doesn't have very much control at all. In fact, some of his thinking is extremely short-term. As someone who does a lot of world building in similarly positioned worlds, I found this aspect frustrating
HOWEVER. That is one of my only complaints. I really enjoyed the story over all and I felt like it had good pacing. The characters are so much fun to watch grow and I'm excited to see how they all end up in the future.
