His contempt seems to have been largely mollified by her efforts to admit to her mistakes, right the wrongs of her past, and live a better life. It may also be that he loved her so deeply before, but had to censure and punish her when her behaviour grew too egregious because the repercussions were too chaotic, both inside the palace and in the larger world. Just some thoughts ...
The emperor did love the og mc when they first married but then he didnt like her because her personality and when the mc transmitted to become the current mc, he like the current mc's personality and fell in love again (they say first love is hard to forget so) so yeah he is in love with her now but didn't really realize it I guess?
Also there this chapter I forgot which mc , mention why she like the emperor in short cuz he handsome and not like usual emperor
Yeah, it's gratifying to read a story where higher consciousness realizations like mercy, wisdom and understanding are, at least, understood before the preoccupation with discipline and severity. It isn't really an atonement or redemption story because her soul transmigrated, but at least it doesn't have quite the degree of problematic elements that a lot of these Isekai-themed stories share. I mean, the whole concept of transmigration has problematic "magical solution" elements, and I would prefer that the original soul acquired self-realization and higher consciousness by experiencing consequences for her actions. I don't know why that theme isn't more popular instead.
um i honestly don’t understand this manhua, like when she first transmigrated the emperor didn’t like her and now all of a sudden he’s infatuated with her?? and why does she like him so easily too?? the character setting and plot just doesn’t make sense and it’s so conflicting. idk why this has such a high rating despite so many plot holes and parts that doesn’t make sense at all.
