Yes. Lied to her, manipulated her right and left, and was a "devout Christian" who had sex with her shortly after meeting her. He also made it almost impossible for her to keep her job if she didn't do exactly what he wanted. The epitome of trustworthy. I also notice that her new MIL seems to be manipulating her quite well, too. Sounds like a match made in Heaven!
Part II - Checking some things, I noticed that he couldn't take no for an answer, and kept sexually assaulting her (I won't say rape, as it's not clear if he had sex while she was saying no). He also announced to her that he didn't use "cowardly means" to spy on her, such as stealing documents or tapping her phone. Why those would constitute cowardice, I don't know. I think he didn't do that because they are illegal, and he could go to jail if he had done either. My conclusion is that he's scum who will do anything to further what he wants, and that he is one of those god-awful people who will justify anything he does as though he's on the shining path of virtue when he's only satisfying his own desires.
I also love the way her older sister subtly shifted the blame for the failure of her first marriage onto her when all she tried to do was to live up to her husband's family's expectations. What happened to being so traumatized by her husband having a mistress that she had a miscarriage? Apparently that went out the window when it became necessary for her to take the blame so new lover boy can smell like a rose. It's almost as if her own family is now gaslighting her!
