Because the whole royal family is obsessed with his sister and they treat their family more like slaves to crown so riddle must have expressed wanting to be with his sister like his mother did to their(Karl&Estelle’s) father
Why did Karl push riddle away? I can't remember. And estelle also didn't seem to like him.
