Did you read the raw? I think the translation group claimed they made a mistake, and he didn't really die then
Yeah, the translator group mentioned he didn't die right after her but like 10 years later or something. But that might change because he was suppose to marry the younger sister and now su is intervening.
Most likely a heartbreak, as Su Luxia can't stay in any world and chooses to leave after mission completion.
If you go back to read the end of the Palace Drama arc, it says that the Prince (now Emperor) died from heartbreak/sadness a few days after Empress Dowager mama Su Luxia died.
Since he's still alive in the current arc, the author most likely retconned it. ._.
Wonder if other past events will get retconned in the future or will be used as actual foreshadowing....
