My opinions

I really love the art style, it’s very soft and I love the contrast of the story. My opinions on the charas are completely different though.

I can’t stand the mother. She’s the adult in the situation, she got her dead husbands son to come in and take care of her own kids, of course they aren’t going to feel loved by you. It’s not a two road situation. It’s one sided abuse as they’re children.

The brothers situation hasn’t been defined really, but from what I see, I don’t understand him at all. If he really did give his all to help his sisters, feeding them, cleaning them, taking them to hospitals, why did he leave without a word? He told their mom he wanted time off and vanished? She gets the last word, I’d be furious. He’s a coward, and at that point I believe he was and adult, while he doesn’t owe those girls anything, it’s a shame that he just left. I wouldn’t forgive him.

Eyre I hate and love, she’s so much like me. Not the favorite and she runs from her problems and falls in love so easily. I don’t see that she’s in the right, she put distance between her elder sister for what reason? Because she thinks she’s prettier and that her crush at the time had an interest in her? It’s such a childish reason. Being left behind would be reasonable, that her brother and father favored her sister, but she doesn’t seem to accept anything of her own faults. She put that distance, she says words meant to hurt someone because she’s upset, she’s not just a victim.

And the elder sister is one of the ones I feel for the most, who dealt with the aftermath of her fathers death and her mothers pregnancy. How long was it until her brother came? How long did she care for eyre and sanguo by herself? She has attachment to him of course, he glued the family back together, and then just like that, he left just like their dad. It must be her fault right? If she wasn’t sick he’d have stayed. Her mind must have gone in circles. Eyre lost an older brother, a caretaker. She lost that and the only person she trusted to take care of her. I’m not saying her hurt is more valid but I’d be pissed if I took care of my sister and all she could say was I was hurting him. If you avoid the elephant, they’ll avoid you back. You tiptoe so the eggshells don’t break because there’s no going back once they do.

The real victim is Sanguo, still a child wrapped up in this family’s drama.
