Not really sure why the two wives are bothering people? Even to the point of dropping the series? It makes perfect sense for a king of a nation to marry important figures in order to unite land.

In my case I'm dropping this because of the way the whole two-wives situation arose and was treated. I dropped this right when miss Princess declared to her uncle that all she had to do was "seduce" the mc. The way the King and his brother is plotting this all without consulting the parties involved ticked me off to begin with. But when they explicitly brought up "seducing" a married character my brain just went "nope. I'm outta here". Because to me, the word "seduction" implies 1) that it's an active act against a passive person, and 2) that it's something deceptive/underhanded. Now, I don't know what's happed further along the storyline. And frankly, I don't really care. Because my point is essentially that I'm not happy with how this all is basically planned out without acquiring the consent of the parties involved. The fact that the mc has been very passive in regards to his own romantic and familiar affairs really doesn't help either. Firstly, It's one thing to have a polygamous relationship in a setting where it's introduced as part of the culture, and all parts are fully aware of the polygamous nature of the relationship and are free to choose whether or not to be a part of it. Having multiple wives was NOT a part of the original marriage deal between Tetra and the mc, and imposing a polygamous relationship onto an already established marriage is, like, not cool. Especially when the polygamous relationship in truth only requires the consent and desire of one of the spouses (notice how they talk about "seducing" the mc, indicating that his desire is indeed of importance. But up until the point i dropped this, noone had ever brought up Tetra's opinion as something relevant? I noticed that. And even if they do later on consider her opinion, she will be in a situation where she is essentially forced into accepting it because she's already frigging married to the dude). And yes it does make sense for a king of a nation to marry important figures in order to unite land (assuming it's within a political context where this is common practice). But the main character ISN'T A KING WHEN THIS ALL PLAYES OUT. When he agrees to marry Tetra he isn't even a member of the Royal family? And it's the Royal family trying to rope him into being king. Not the other way around. He didn't grow up in that sort of culture, nor was he born into the Royal family. Mc has like no obligation whatsoever to just marry whoever the royal family wants him to (Tbh I kinda think just accepting anyone who throws themselves at you is kinda a dick thing to do in the first place though). And i refuse to accept a half-hearted excuse of "historical accuracy" to justify the romantic development, because so far this has not been even remotely close to any sort of historical realism whatsoever.

If it sounds like I'm being aggressive towards you personally I apologise, because that was absolutely not my intention. My frustration is wholeheartedly directed towards the manga itself (or rather at the tropes present within aforementioned manga), and my sole purpose was to make an attempt at conveying my reasoning. Also, It is four am and i do not have the eloquence to structure my long rant appropriately. My apologies.

(Moreover, I noticed that it might seem like I'm specifically criticising Princess and supporting Tetra here, which isn't correct. I'm not particularly fond of either of the female characters, nor do I believe one has an inherent "claim" to the mc. Though I also think the mc does have a greater obligation towards Tetra because he did, in fact, enter into a consensual monogamous relationship with her first. Ugh. I'll stop ranting now. I'm sorry, whoever might read this. T'was not my intention to ramble on. G'night)
