He said he was cooking for his older brother, so he might've been trying to keep the lessons a secret until he learned how to cook. So either he didn't tell his brother, or the brother didn't connect the dots yet, or he used his brother as an excuse (unlikely, considering his personality)
Didn't he said that he had asked his brother about the cook? Shoudn't the other brother know who he was then?
