Imagine not being able to sleep for years .... even pulling an all-nighter can already get very uncomfortable, and that guy had to endure this for y e a r s. And suddenly there's someone that saved him from that hellish kind of existence. No wonder he'd cling to them and develop max feelings for them almost like a knee jerk reaction hahaha
