For me its like as a women I hate seeing so many mangas where the fl is this weak, demure airhead who goes with anything the ml says never stands up for herself and let's people walk all over her, because its just like some shitty stereotype that women have to be that way to a man and u just want the fl to be better than that. However when it comes to the guys its a little refreshing to see some demure airheadedness cause we're so used to this dominating alpha type guy who just does whatever and has no emotion. But there's a line in yaoi manga where the uke is just a little too much and your just stand up for yourself already what are you doing.

ok but you can be cute with being weak, like in Dear Door, that is one of the yaoi i read where the uke is strong cute and not stupid. I have read a lot of yaoi where the so call detective a police officer go get kidnapped and rape like they doesn't have strength to fight. but you right thank for the ans.

Can I say I hate both? I'm ok with weak uke if they are smart or in "slice of life" story. For female, I read shoujo manga since I was 8 years old, I'm in my 20s now, and the weak, innocent female lead is the biggest troupe in shoujo manga. I get tired of it. Doesn't mean I hate weak female, I just want some fresh air, tho 2 of my favourite shoujo manga have cute, innocent female lead : Hiyoko and Nagaboshi Lens.

For manga with themes like adventure, battle, fighting, etc, I strongly dislike weak/innocent/cute/ mary sue characters. I don't like characters that don't know their strength or get in the way, such as Carol from Daugther of Nile. I would prefer FL in Red River who can fight and willing to fight or From Far Away who is not physically strong but have a strong mind and knows what she is good at
