gosh I'm only on chapter 37 but like couldn't he just of said "I have anxiety and can't look people in the eyes" or like something along those lines? maybe not using the word anxiety but like??
I know there's a stigma around mental health in eastern Asia but I feel like that would be a much more believable thing to say to someone who already knows you aren't blind and is suspecting you.
He'd definitely look pretty odd but like, it's more believable.
