Like, how can you make your partner feel bad about something they're good at and passionate about? She clearly KNEW he was absorbed in his writing prior even to marrying him, so...? I never understood why people can make their spouse feel ashamed of their hobbies. You have to sit down and compromise together, so you can spend time with each other but still have time to enjoy your own respective hobbies/passions/careers.
