The rational of the uke is so fucking stupid. I understand internalized homophobia but the mental leaps for this to be reason to be a masochist is absurd. Why not just make him a masochist to begin instead of this self destructive pity party of one. That is the very reason I have a list called "my shoujo exceptions", where I save shoujo stories that don't go like this. I also hate this in stories.

I think Im part of the few who read BL for the plot and not the porn, but when I read plots like I honestly just get so fed up with the genre because it’s the same rehashed shit all the time. Either it’s rape to love. Or some broken to love. Like seriously are all manga/ manhwa characters meant to be so 1D for people to enjoy them? Even if it is a kind of porn, it’s still just as much visual storytelling. So why is that never handled with the same care as lightsaber dicks and almighty yaoi hands?

honestly i gotta 100% agree most yaoi potrays a shit tons of bad plot with such abusive and shit characters but im not blaming the author or anything its just the way maybe they just tend to make it but it would be a breath of fresh air seeing a healthy and slowburn romance through yaoi manga though most people are just gonna be thinking its just fiction dont be so offended etc etc but honestly its my opinion regarding the way the manga overall so i get what your saying but oh well by the end of the day I just don't think too much about it since there are some readers who are butthurt by people's opinion ┑(￣Д ￣)┍

Just because it's yaoi it doesn't mean the plot is not important, i don't know since when yaoi = plotless (I don't think this word actually exists lol). I also read this because of the plot, and if the plot is good, the sex scenes will be better to read, but when the plot is not to my taste, I don't even bother reading the erotic scenes, I just feel bored. I love when the story has complex characters and sometimes, what they don't say it's what says a lot about them.

Many people read yaoi for the plot as well as porn. I would say majority. It comes down to how they are feeling and what they are up for. That’s the great thing about being on an illegal website with lots to choose from *shrugs*.

In terms of this story, I have a feeling that he does have internalized homophobia that probably doesn’t just stem from him rejecting his friend and not asking for forgiveness. He probably has lots of pain and part of it is hurting his best friend from many years ago.
