I think the real sad part is how the characters see that a romantic relationship is more important than a sibling/family relationship. Does loving romantically have more value than loving someone as a family? Does your romantic love have to be more important than your mom, dad, sister, brother or even friends? Isn't this a Hollywood myth that makes we believe that "romantic love" is more important than "friendship love" or "family love"?

You bring up an interesting point but i have to disagree, it is not a Hollywood myth makes us believe that "romantic love" is more important than "friendship love" or "family love". I was raised in a culture that believed that "romantic love" is more important than "friendship love" or "family love". we don't believe or practice incest but once married, the woman moved in with her husband and her husband and their offspring becomes more important than her mom, dad or brothers and sister meaning she nor he can place their mom, dad, bro, and sis above their husband or wife. I think even in America such practice does exist (it wouldn't be in Hollywood movies if it didn't) but it is different when the person you love happens to be related to you

Both of you present very interesting points of view. It's true that incest is a delicate subject but it was a common reality in the past (in the Europeans royal families. Not direct incest between brother and sister but between uncle and nice, for example. This happened in order to maintain the family heritage, but the offspring would suffer serious health problems). I think that the three kinds of love that were mentioned are very importante but they have their prime time in diferent times of our life (childhood - family; teenager years - friends and adulthood - husband/wife/partner). Either way, these types of love will be presente throughout our whole lives. That's just what I think.
