That was actually the author’s original plan. He never planned to make the Act II and wanted to finish the series in the first act, but his publishers and fans wouldn’t let him go with it, so he made the second act. But the orig plan was to make Furuya the ace till the very end and Eijun never get to be the ace even once. Lmao. It’s really fcked up. Idk what’s going on in sensei’s head. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

bruh for real? What's the whole point of ACE OF THE DIAMOND? Isn't Sawamura the diamond in the rough or what not? If sawamura doesn't become ace that'd defeat the whole purpose of the series lmao. No wonder the fans wouldn't let that happen, that's so shitty
I think ace of diamond meaning is the ace on the baseball field. Because the field is diamond shaped. But yeah, it will be a huge let down if the author end the series with Furuya being the ace. It's like, what's the point of him being the main character.
