I think it's rare...

I think it's rare that a BL manhwa/manga/manhua has touched base on the subject of homophobia. Esp coming from the main character himself as far as introducing the seme girls, narrow minded about the whole same sex love mindset, constantly making comments on seme's sexuality etc. I was beyond angry when he continues doing that in the chapters but also understand why he acts like that. (that i even went as far as yelling at my phone as if I was talking to him lololol)

Cos the reality is not everyone is understanding even after gay marriage is legalised in many countries. It's still a touchy subject even for me as bi/pansexual (who's only been with a girl so far up to this point as a girl at the age of 28, been w her for 8-9 years dating wise). Not everyone's understanding esp people at work and my family is the same still etc. When the uke said the homophobic stuff it reminds me of my parents...I guess why I hate it cos it's too real. I think it's great though he began to understand as he started talking to people around him and realised his feelings for the seme. So glad they are happy together and that the artist filled up those confusions in the extras. Worth reading! (I'm considering buying the series on Tappytoon - I mean I've already own Walk on Waters thanks to mangago but am thinking to buy this and maybe Stigma haha)

EXACTLY. Too often the issue of homosexuality in mangas is never explicitly discussed. Like a lot of mangas make t seem like the hiding and sneaking around is just something non cis would have to deal with for the rest of our lives. But I like here how there is an explicit discussion on the backlash the President experience for being open about it and ESPECIALLY when he mentions how even non straights themselves can be the biggest heckler in coming out. Im glad they arent brushing it off as just another gatuitous BL but are actually tring to tackle homophobia and homosexuality in a way that makes people understand it easily.

To more stories that will hopefully remove the stigma! I hope you live well and happy OP!
