this comment section is so ugly. honestly im glad that some ppl here wont be able to read the manhwa anymore because these people who were ableist towards a mentally ill person and insulted the author do NOT deserve to read this manhwa and i dont want pianpian to be associated with these disgusting people.

im a college student without a job and i still managed to buy all of the chapters pianpian on lezhin (and im buying another webtoon on lezhin) if you like smth a lot then you will find a way to make it fit into your budget. i collected manga for 5 years and i used my own pocket money. i collected 400 volumes. it was my hobby so i gladly spent that money on manga!

i cant believe how many ppl here feel entitled to read smth that costs money for FREE. this webtoon is not a necessity. youre a minor? well, this manga is for adults. yes i know minors read adult content (i was like that too) but thats just how it is. you either 1) ask an adult friend to buy it for you or 2) accept that you are not the target audience. if you think its too expensive then stop complaining and just dont buy it. nobody is forcing you to buy it. just dont be surprised when the webtoon gets dropped bc the author cant pay their bills bc you were too cheap to pay 70 cent for a chapter.

Chapter 14, one of the HOTTEST chapters in the series is going up on Lezhin in just a few hours (I buy the Korean version so I know what's going to happen)!! I DEFINITELY don't want to share it with the fuckwads here that were so very rude to the author as well as start a thread to bash one person who had a panic episode. Most likely triggered JUST BECAUSE the author was here and not the fault of any of the members here.

Chapter 14 IS MINE; I PAID FOR IT and I'm NOT letting the people that are justifying themselves and boldly decalre they won't pay for it (just because of one person or other bullshit reasons they come up with) see the sexy hotness that's to come! Oh it's so hot and it's good to know it won't be shared with all of these toxic, nasty pricks here.

I agree with your general vibe (I feel bad for the author getting attacked here - that sucks. And I am not engaging in this comment war - personally I’m neutral... I like to read stories, I have purchased some, can’t buy everything I like), but I’m curious as to why you continue to read on this site given your stance? Seems like you read a lot of different manhwas/mangas on this site like many of us. Maybe that’s what triggers unpaying users - getting messages like this one here on mangago from other pirate readers. Kind of hypocritical in a way.
Because I partake, I don’t feel like I can lecture others. Do you see what I’m saying?

yea i know it might seem hypocritical but im only on mangago to 1) keep track of the manga im reading and 2) to read bl manga that havent been licensed. the bl manga that get licensed in my country are usually pretty...disappointing. lots of manga that are in my list here on mangago are manga that i own myself (or have owned before bc i sold over half of my collection), read at my best friends place or bought on lezhin. everything else is just not licensed in my country

Still, reading an unlicensed translation is not legal. Listen, like you, I also read here. I just don’t get why some of you are trying to lecture others into paying while you also use this site for whatever reason.
I wish people would keep perspective. This is a site of pirates. I feel bad for the artist getting attacked but honestly imo I don’t think she used the right place voice herself. An official announcement via Lezhin or going directly to Mangago admins to take the page down. I mean, if you’re (you as in the author) already paying DMCA pro might as well let them deal with this. Seems like a waste of time trying to persuade people that know very well what they’re doing and getting into verbal fights with them.

hey bb, she should let dmca + intellectual property lawyers she hired do the gritty work for her - that's why she's paying for that. I think she let her (understandable) frustration get the best of her, and ended up feeling worse. I know personally people here can be quite savage so I find it pointless to write what she did. her fans and neutral people like me would have agreed with her on other non-pirate platforms. you can't shame people who never gave a fuck to begin with into purchasing your work - ya feel me? ;/

I’m not sure why you’re replying to me.
Point blank - if you have an account here (like you and me) & you read pirate versions of manga/manhwa licensed or not, we have NO ground to lecture anyone. This is a pirate site - the fact that you and others think that you can change people’s behavior by telling them what to do is laughable.
There are better ways to go about protecting one’s artwork. One way being litigation. She (author) gave herself a bad time, and that’s genuinely sad. I hope she just allows the team she’s paying $$$ to, to take care of this and avoid being in digital brawls for her own mental health.

I've....about lost my patience with you. You....seriously just blamed the author trying to protect her work.

You're the one who uses tumblr right? I KNOW artists there HATE that there work was reposted to tumblr without their permission. Especially if they were paid commission work from Patreon.

This is basically what happened to Haesin. It was like a commissioned work she did for patreon (Lezhin) and posted it tumblr (mangago) without her permission. Making her lose the revenue she would've gotten by her subscribers on patreon.

There's also a site out of Japan called pixiv that almost closed the doors to access from America and other western countries. Why? Because the artists there found their work being reposted to GUESS WHERE! It wasn't just tumblr it was pinterest IG, etc. Those artists weren't even being paid for their work, they just hated the fact their art was going without credit AND used without their permission to make crafts these people sold and made a profit. Can't tell you the number of times I've seen a fanwork that was being sold as a wall scroll on etsy orEbay by someone who stole their image and used a printing service.

Do you get it now? And many scanlation teams have a code of conduct that once the comic has an English version it's dropped. That means the moment that the day this had an official English version, it should've been dropped. However, for this particular comic, all it's chapters were pulled from English Lezhin. That means this comic SHOULD HAVE NEVER GONE UP IN THE FIRST PLACE. The same with MANY other manwhas pulled from their official publisher's website.

If it was a private fan translation, it would've been okay. But...its not. This whole thing was stolen from English Lezhin. All of it.

I think they just got confused and has the idea that artists actually pay to publish their works in publishing. And no...that's not how it works chief. Publication companies sign a contract with the author to publish their work if they think they're satisfactory. THE PUBLISHING COMPANY spends money on THEM. It's called an investment into a potential best seller. They don't charge her anything. That would be absurd in the first place.

And understandably is very upset that her work was completely stolen and put here for people to read for free. She knows that she SHOULD be earning money for her work.

Very popular in Korea: #4 on Lezhin's best BL seller list.

In the US: #12...... Not even ranked in the top five OR top #10 like it is in the country of origin.

Reason? You searched Pian Pian in Google or any other search site and MANGAGO would show up. Not the official on Lezhin. This confused people into thinking the official version was here and not Lezhin. Hence why there's so many members here asking where to buy it. BECAUSE NO ONE EVER KNEW. There are a few here that I bet didn't know these are stolen copies of the one you find on Lezhin. This entire thing was stolen. It's not fan translation (which probably would've made the situation just a bit better, but by the time this comic got popular it was already being pilfered from the English site).

I hope this paints a better picture of how things actually work. Also, this person sounded WAAAYYY too close to blaming the victim. Not cool, bro.

lol y'all are so naive. why do you think businesses are even incorporated or why some get insurance? or why many content creator giants such as Disney have well staffed litigation teams? because they know what works in protecting intellectual property. haesin has every right to waster her time talking to people that are not and will prob not buy her works (otherwise they wouldn't be on a pirate site) - I am just pointing out how funny you all look trying to preach something while having 500+ mangas saved in your mangago account. lmao

The naive one here obviously is YOU. And the more you speak the more you don't sound as 'neutral' as you once claimed.

If you think Lezhin is as big a conglomerate as Disney just get the fuck out right now. Holy fuck never heard such a gross comparison in my fucking life.

And you're another child that doesn't know how the world works with all that you're spewing. Get out of here with your anti-capitalism shit because it's not even about that. Lezhin is a fucking foreign company trying to expand to other countries willing to accept their content. Only a child wouldn't know how this business works.

I also see you've never taken an economy class or if you did, you FAILED. Don't talk about companies, economy, or business because you don't know how it works. ESPECIALLY overseas ones.

I'm done here and it's pretty clear that you're not a neutral voice. You just want shit for free even after someone cries to you to stop stealing from them.

You've been found out, you can stop talking now.

Don't know why I'm even answering but yeah, Lezhin is a Korean company not an American one like Disney. Also means they that different laws and business practices. In addition most likely don't have the resources to provide protection because yes, that costs money.

And mangago here is an AMERICAN site taking advantage of the file sharing law. Foriegn laws are pretty much helpless against it. Anything regarding downloadable media is helpless against it. TV shows, movies, music, videogames, any entertainer who's career is in those fields suffer from this giant loophole in the American law system. So you honestly think a Korean company can stand against it?
