You're so very right about the fact that many wouldn't known POTN if not through these sites authors like BD despise so much.
I for my part woul never have known this historical manhwa if not on Myreadingmanga (another illegal one), and later continue to read it on Mangago...
I said on my preview topics how these sites actually contribute to their success and popularity (ancient like new artists) and I will still stand on this.
To say this, I'm an artist myself (draw, write).
We are not living in a perfect world, and it's important for artists if they want to survive in this artistic universe to be humble and learn to compromise with internet, especially when their work are distributed through the same software tool.
Some said readers are angry on Beyonduck because these readers dare to complain while they're reading on illegal sites...
Not everybody here who dare to express their thoughts about this is a freeloader, many also buy on Lezhin.
I'm not angry on her, but disappointed by her attitude.
She has a big community of fans in wertern countries and above Asia, how does she think they come to know her work? Of course, through illegal sites!
I won't buy this statement like which she doesn't even know her work were distributed on western illegal sites; she can't be that ignorant.
We're coming here every week, for some everyday to look on POTN, write comment, write long theories like if this is some bible..., we're doing so because this is the only and best place for us to interact about this work we like so much. I don't know about Korea, but as we can see, BL readers throughout the word (Europe, America, Africa, rest of Asia...) are coming here on Mangago to rassemble and speak about this work, many after decided to buy the chapters and support her.
Many, by default of supporting her for financial struggles, does it by following her on social medias, speak about her work etc... A penniless fan is not less a fan.
I remember one of my contacts here, fellow fan of potn, saying to me how she's penniless and follow BD on Twitter, but whenever she goes there she would feel uncomfortable because everybody then would talk bad about people who read on illegal sites. Is it her fault for being poor, for being a poor student, or too young...?
It's not because a moron; some ill-intentioned troll, reads her work on Mangago and make it sound bad that everyone of these sites are bad persons. BD was furious and it's understandable, but talking like if these sites alongside the audience here (her audience) is garbage... :/ This site which by all evidence contribute to her success...
I will drop this manhwa for the moment, and maybe come later later to know what's happened. I'll see... For now the story is not progressing much btw.

I thought I would get major hate for what I said lol. I've seen and went with piracy almost my whole life, sudden yellow flags don't move me anymore. My country being in top 10 for it doesn't help ether XD
Only the artists who work in actual companies benefit the least from piracy. Unknown ones from non-english countries ? They do. I also noticed a lot of english speakers on her twitter. I know Lezhin also has an English translated works but how does one even come across Lezhin. Webtoons are Asain oriented compared to western Webcomics. Plus a lot of Webcomic sites are actually free to view, with a patreon or similar for donations ( I like this method better than Lezhin tbh). Also isn't the raw site, Toonkor a way to support her?
I agree what you said in your previous discussions, especially as an artist. I on the other hand plan on being ether a game designer or developer. If I go with indie genre, I lowkey hope people share it even on illegal sites. Since that nets you people who will give you money. Better that than none at all.
It's horrible that they treat other fans like that. As I said before. Not everyone can afford it and that IS a justifiable reason. Some parents would be furious if they knew their child bought something like this. Literally seen comments along the lines of 'my parents would beat me if I bought ___'. I sometimes feel proud as a pirate when I see those peacocks waving about what they have bought. I can't stand people who see themselves above others because they can afford something. It's just a shitty attitude and ignorance of other country economies....
I'm sad you'll be leaving. I feel like you are one of the only ones daring enough to discuss some harder topics. You don't seem blinded by emotions as some, I appreciate that. But I guess it will be nice to have the wait off your shoulders. I don't remember when was the last time I paid attention to weekly releases this much. I wish I could make myself take a timeout. . . .

I will guess that Seungho drinking before bed isn't something he normally does judging by the old servant's reaction. That's good then, he should feel some consequences of his actions.
I find it kinda adorable that he also followed Inhun and Na-kyum with a sword. One would think he realised that Inhun has no such feelings (or maybe he thought NK would do smt?). I wonder if NK still has a fever tho.
Na-kyum was extra adorable at that hair ruffle and SH was so very very hot.
I really wish I knew what they were saying tho, one could go so far with just guessing. But oh well, two more weeks till the translations hit.
