Some people has unrealistic view on love. It's not simple and people do not always behave smart or kind. I think you summed up what's going on in the story pretty well.
There a lot of negative comments here but I thought it was realistic. Being in love with someone who unknowingly broke your heads and having to deal with the consequences of your own ego... I thinks the seme was a broken man holding onto the past and doing his best for Hana- going as far as to give her up to a seemingly more stable home. Then the uke come alone and kinda inserts himself in the situation falling in love and all that.
I do agree that it ended at the start but I honestly would be happy for any ending with this, something like:
- it didn’t work out and uke goes on to find a new love
- seme works out his issues and treated the uke like the treasure he is
Sometimes love sucks.
