Agreed, I think when it comes to gender, sexuality, or life decisions in general, one should choose the path that will make them happy in the long run. It's actually quite surprising how people could easily let go of a lifelong dream in pursuit of a better one.
The transitioning story is misunderstood by so many people. I don't think that what Mimi felt was gender dysphoria but more like having it as a hindrance to his relations. He probably hates flamboyant,stereotypically gay men but for the rest being feminine at least in appearance is what makes them somewhat acceptable.
