That "queen" is a stupid ass bitch who can only process what others feed to others and then spits it out without ever using her brain for what it's worth.
Like wtf she's so stupid and she makes the worst decisions.

She has a point though. The mc deserves a reward, as he won them the war with a lot of gains and minimal losses. But if she gives him too high a status all the other nobles would go against her for it and the country would be in chaos. At the same time the mc doesn't actually have any affiliation with the country. So there is no guarantee he wouldn't betray them in the future. Ones opinions can change over time after all. But he also has a force powerful enough to be a direct threat to the country. Sure, you can go on trust that the mc wouldn't do something like that. But trust alone isn't something you can count on when it comes to deciding for an entire country.

This is, in fact, a very realistic viewpoint of how such a situation would go. Giving him a position and plot of land to rule over that other nobles wouldn't complain about, while at the same time binding him to the country even if loosely. Solves most problems. Sure, it's not fair. The mc deserves the highest noble status for literally singlehandedly preventing the country from falling, but reality is sadly generally not that straight forward and rose-coloured.

Yes but I still hate this position that the mc is put in.
i'm aware that this is probably a realistic situation.
However, I don't like the idea that the queen asked for the mcs help because she was in dire need, and then once she had no use for him, she puts him on a leash, without any say on his part. Not to mention, if it weren't for the mc, she probably would have lost her country.
So it frustrates me that this is the decision they made. Also that in their discussion with each other, her retainer suggested assassination of the mc, which really ticked me off.
I understand the logic, but I also can't see the "right" in this.

Yea the assassination suggestion was bordering on evil for me. And you're right, there is no "right" in this. Real life sucks that way. But I'm guessing the MC will find a way to turn this into his advantage. Otherwise the description wouldn't talk about him becoming a ruler. This might in fact be his first step.

Yes, I didn't even notice that in the summary.
He'd better overthrow the queen and her retainers lol, that will be satisfying to watch.
