You REALLY need to widen your perspective. There are countries that just straight up murder people for being gay.

In most Asian countries they don't legally allow gay marrige but I don't think it's illegal, just looked down upon? I don't remember, though I think the newer generation is more fine with it as you know, lesbian animes has come out and stuff like that? I think japan is more fine with it now, more so then Korea and a lot more then China

What I meant by it don't think it's illegal is not the marrige part, i meant that I don't think it's illegal to be in a relationship with the same sex it's just you can't get officialy married if your gay

It makes no difference how many years have passed. Discrimination will always exist in some forms. That's just part of human nature.

Asian countries like Korea, for instance, has a deeply conservative society where they expect folks to conform to what is considered traditional and don't tolerate out of ordinary things like gay people. This story seems to be a reflection of that, where teachers tried to discourage homosexual relationships and closeted gays being forced to lie out of fear they will get bullied and harassed.

I don't know if you consider only Korea, China and Japan as asian countries or you are purposefully ignoring the asian countries that do literally kill people (publicly, might i add) for being gay.

Okay, I understand. Sorry for getting worked up. It's just that people really don't know how it is in most Asian countries that literally have laws that allow stoning gay people publicly, or how it's alright to not even speak about the topic altogether.

You'll be harassed for being gay in Russia. China keeps banning BL to stop homosexuality. Pakistan etc you'll get killed for being gay. India and Nepal etc it's neutral... They don't mind if you don't make it public. Same with Japan Korea etc... Vietnam etc is better. Taiwan is the best.

European countries are not the safest either. I'm from Poland and even if being gay is not completely illegal here, gay conversion therapies are still a thing there. In recent years there've been so many "events" on which homophobic people claim loudly that gay people are pedophiles and want to adopt children to rape them/assault them sexually. And Pride Parades are not the safest thing there. Recently there was a Pride in Białystok, where homophobes were throwing bottles and bricks at people and so many participants ended up in hospital. And our government is strongly against LGBT as well

oh yeah, homosexuality is taboo in Pakistan and you could get into real trouble just by the mention of it in front of religious extremists. And I agree with China banning BL, I've seen them convert a great BL story into a heteronormative one just so they wouldn't promote homosexuality, lol

Not only Asian countries do this but if I am right then it was over 60. Many of them do not allow any kind of gay activities. And many probably still have these questionnaires. There are so many news about people being murdered for being gay and the government just accepting it. Just recently there was a state saying they will not accept gay marriage too
